Product Spotlight: Mario Bedescu Facial Spray with Rosewater

We have always been a fan of Mario Bedescu Products. They are natural lightweight and non-irritating.  So of course it's only natural for our fave skin care products to migrate to our obsession...hair.

I have personally used the Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater for years to help refresh my skin and set my makeup.

The other day I tried using the mist on my hair extensions to lightly refresh and detangle them.  The rosewater and aloe allow soothe the cuticles and allow the perfect source of moisture for Indian Hair.

The spray is lightweight enough to use daily, and it's much better than regular old tap water which often has heavy mineral deposits that render the water hard and requiring conditioners to soften the water which leads to product buildup.

What do you think Sunny's Girls what is your favorite refreshing spray for your hair extensions.  Post a comment to share your personal faves.

Sunny's Hair Extension Institute Classes Updates

This year we have been partnering with our Sunny's Stylists & Salons to master the latest techniques in Hair  Extensions.

There is such a huge demand for hair extensions.  Thanks to Wendy Williams, Kim Zolciak, Kim Kardashian and Dancing with the Stars we all realize that all of our favorite celebrities wear hair extensions and wigs to enhance their look.

If they look fab, we want a piece of the action.

Yet, we encounter so many disappointed and bewildered clients who can't believe that they can't find  a stylist who is thoroughly trained in hair extensions.

We value education at Sunny's and we think our Stylist taking these classes are amazing!

This year we will be partnering with two Salons to offer more education at more locations around Atlanta, GA.

Glambar Salon  and Studio 305 Salon in Buckhead have partnered with Sunny's Hair Extensions Institute to offer more chances to train, learn and have fun while doing it.

Our last class at Glam Bar was very hands on but super fun and in a spacious & beautiful place!

Product Spotlight: Natural Wave Indian Hair

Something must be in the air...we can't keep enough of Virgin Natural Wave Indian Hair in stock as of late.  Women are loving the effortless waves that this hair offers but what people love is how easy it is to wear straight.  The waves allow the hair to retain natural texture so that it blends well with their own hair.

Tips on Natural Wave Indian Hair:

  • Keep it clean:  If you use a gentle sulfate free shampoo with this hair (we heart Global Keratin Moisturizing Shampoo)  then you can use a small amount of extremely lightweight conditioner which you should rinse completely off and don't use a lot of hairspray, gels, lotions or leave in conditioners
  • If you want to wear the hair wavy you will need to refresh the waves with water and a paddle brush daily.  Another option is to wear the hair in two braids at night to ensure the hair's cuticles don't get frayed in the evening.
  • Don't go to heavy on the heat if you want this hair to last.  A flat iron is all you need to get the hair straight.  So pick your heat, either do a blowout or let the hair air dry and flat iron when finished.

Salon Spotlight: Vis a Vis The Salon

We have a wonderful resource on our website called Sunny's Stylists.  We feature hair salons that cater to Sunny's Girls by working with the best hair, latest techniques and training and work with you to achieve your dream hair.

The stylists directory is not extensive & you can't buy your way onto it.  These stylists have been recommended & trained by Sunny's Girls and Sunny's Hair Insitutite.

Vis a Vis is our Salon Spotlight.  This gorgeous salon is well managed and elegantly appointed to deliver flawless results.

What they do best:
Vis a Vis specializes in strand by strand hair extensions and clip in hair extensions.  They are able to work with all types of hair textures but have less experience on African-American hair extensions than other salons in Atlanta.

Who to ask for:
Joseph and Lauren are the two hair extension specialists.
Lauren is precise with her strand by strand. Joseph is a phenomenal hair extensions specialist but also is able to deliver flawless custom color applications to 909 hair extensions that give a personalized touch.

What to expect price wise:
Their rates for hair extensions begin at $900 and up.  They use 100% Remy Ukrainian hair and work with hair extensions that do not use glue or resins to connect to the hair shaft ensuring healthier hair extensions.

Silicone Line Micro Beads + Wefted Hair Extensions = LOVE

Lately we have been just bored with the current methods of hair extensions....searching for something beyond strand by strand and sew-ins.

We have been in love with Skin Weft or tape in extensions because they are so fast to apply...but the drawback is that they don't last as long as we'd like.

So it was back to the drawing board.  Then a Sunny's Girl went to Metowi Willingham of Salon Ramsey and had a few tracks added in with a method called Malaysian Hair Extensions and a true love affair began.

The method uses silicone lined micro-links and wefted Indian Hair Extensions from Sunny's to create a flat and almost undecteable form of hair extensions that can last with proper maintenance 1-3 months.

So far...so good!  We will report back on feedback.

Product Spotlight: Why we love Global Keratin

Global Keratin Moisturizing Shampoo (10.1 oz)

We love the Global Keratin line of products for our hair extensions.  The sulfate free line of products is the perfect product to maintain hair extensions.  Even if you don't have a Keratin treatment on your hair, this line still works really well to delicately clean the hair while fortifying the hair with keratin.

The  Global Keratin Moisturizing Shampoo (10.1 oz) is great but the conditioner is truly amazing.  This is the best slippage conditioner we have ever tried.  Tell us your thoughts!
