DIY Hair Extensions?

We'd like to invite all the Daily Candy Readers to become Sunny's Girls!  The staff at Daily Candy test drove the Lord & Cliff Clip In Extensions to see if they were as easy as we claimed.

Sunny's Staff matched the staff for color by an email consultation...

Kristin:  Kristen is a color #2 or dark brown.  We used the Lord & Cliff One Piece Clip In Hair Extension.  The One Piece is a layered set of extensions that are ready to clip in to offer a "curtain" of hair extensions.  They already come with subtle curls so that it has body and is ready to clip and go...  The One Piece is our featured item and regularly retails for $160 and is on sale for $130.

Meghan:
Meghan has a blend of highlights.  While it seems like her hair color is harder to match, it's actually super easy when you have a blend of colors.  Her color is a 6/27/8/16 and she has the Lord & Cliff Seven Pieces Clip In Extensions in 18".   The Seven Pieces retails for $100 for 14" and $130 for 18"

Mary:
Mary is a color #1B of off black. We used the Lord & Cliff Three Pieces Clip In hair extensions which is perfect for women who just want a little volume and not a whole set of extensions.  The Three Pieces retails for $64.99 for 12" and $74.99 for 14" and 18" $84.99

So... here's a few tips

1.  If you need color matching assistance:  Email photo consultations $5  Online Video Sessions $10.  Email: Color Consult Emails

2.  If you don't think clip in extensions are quite a DIY then visit the nearest Retail Locations for color matching assistance as well as Clip In Hair Extension tutorial.  Our staff will walk you through how to place and lightly your clip in extensions for a fee of course.

3. Add texture to the clip in extensions with either hot rollers or a curling wand.  It will make the extensions look more natural once they have a little wave or curl to them.  Very few people have stick straight hair so this always helps.

4. Use a skirt hanger to store your clip in extensions, this will keep them fresh and lock in the style.

5. One set of clip ins are generally enough for a complete head of hair extensions.

Holiday Party Ready Hair

Holiday Party season is in full swing!

Take a cue from your favorite celebrities. Elle.com features a great photo gallery this month on celebrity inspired Holiday hair styles.

To recreate these looks here some tips:

Ciara: Go bold with a long ponytail piece. With the help of 7 pcs extensions in 18" clip in all the small pieces towards the center of your head and slick into a sleek ponytail. Use Tancho Stick or any pomade to secure your hair along the perimeter. Tip: Clip in some pieces towards the nape of your neck upside down so that they slick into a ponytail easier.

Sienna: Channel your inner 40's screen goddess by clipping in 14" Hair Extensions or the Lord & Cliff One Piece. Create gentle waves with a 2" curling iron. To achieve Sienna's gorgeous color opt for colors such as 16/22 or 140/22

Beyonce: Opt for ease and experiment with a Full Lace Wig with Natural Curls. Color such as 6/16/24 will deliver Beyonce's trademark golden locks without damaging your own tresses.

Kate: Nothing grabs attention at a holiday party then giving off the illusion you cut your tresses into a graduated tousled bob. Recreate the look by loosely pinning waves at the nape of your neck and allowing some waves to naturally fall forward.

Looks we Love: Kim Kardashian, LaLa and Ciara

The ultimate Sunny's Girl celebrated her birthday this past weekend in Las Vegas. What a stylish set of friend's she has.

To achieve LaLa and Ciara's look we'd recommend 10 ounces of Indian Hair Natural Wave in 22". To recreate their long big-barreled curls we'd blow out the Indian Hair and then using a lightweight hairspray such as AirControl by Aveda we'd use a 1" curling iron to create spiral curls and then set with pins to cool into the curls.

To recreate Kim Kardashian's ode to Sasha Fierce we'd use the ever so easy Lord & Cliff One Piece Clip In Extensions and clip it in towards the nape of the neck and crown area and secure that into a high ponytail. We'd tease the crown area to recreate the voluminous pump ponytail look.

We love love love Kim Kardashian... she just might be our favorite Sunny's Girl. So we had to say we were a little sad when she abandoned her signature dark hair for blonde this summer.

So we are so happy to read on her blog that she's going back to her roots this fall.

Are you ready to embrace fall?

Considering returning to your roots for fall? Consider using Clip In Extensions to gradually flirt with the right color for your roots.
